Open Call for Submissions

GHOSTMACHINE Gallery is pleased to announce an Open Call for artists to participate in a TWO- or THREE-person exhibition organized by guest curator Dominika Tylcz, on view from July  31st, 2026, through August 29th, 2026, in our storefront location at 23 Monroe St, New York.

We invite individual submissions from artists and collectives of all career levels working in any media. While we welcome applications from outside New York, please note that artists are responsible for shipping their work to the gallery and back if it doesn’t sell. Artists are also expected to assist with installation and de-installation; however, the gallery will manage these processes for works with simple setup requirements, like paintings and small artworks.

Up to 10 applicants will be offered a studio visit with the guest curator, out of which two or three artists will be selected for the exhibition. All applications will be kept on file for consideration in future group exhibitions, art fairs, and off-site projects.

We look forward to being in conversation with new artists.

Dominika Tylcz is a curator and writer. They currently serve as a Curatorial Associate in the Department of Painting and Sculpture, The Museum of Modern Art, New York. They held positions at the Hessel Museum of Art, Annandale-on-Hudson; New Museum, New York, and Stefan Gierowski Foundation, Warszawa, Poland. Their writing has been published in catalogues and magazines, including The Brooklyn Rail, Impulse Magazine, and BOMB Magazine.

GHOSTMACHINE Gallery provides a platform for artists to showcase artwork in a supportive and collaborative environment. We operate outside of the traditional commercial gallery system, allowing for more experimentation and creative freedom in the exhibitions while working closely with the artist community to give exposure to other artists and curators. Our goal is to create an equal opportunity platform and showcase a diverse range of voices and cultural backgrounds. The inspiration behind this project is to establish a collective art space that empowers artists to work alongside curators to create exceptionally unique shows. We aim to disrupt the flawed hierarchy system by prioritizing the artists’ direct voice. This will result in a stronger connection between the art and the audience.
